【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversequipmentandmethodsfordeterminingtheporosityofgoldorpalladiumcoatings,particularlyelectrodepositsandcladmetalsusedonelectricalcontacts.Itisdesignedtoshowwhethertheporositylevelislessthanorgreaterthanagivenvaluewhichbyexperienceisconsideredbytheusertobeacceptablefortheintendedapplication.Thisporositytestinvolvescorrosionreactionsinwhichtheproductsdelineatedefectsitesincoatings.Sincethechemistryandpropertiesoftheseproductsmaynotresemblethosefoundinnaturalorserviceenvironmentsthistestcannotberecommendedforthepredictionoftheelectricalperformanceofcontactsunlesscorrelationisfirstestablishedwithserviceexperience.Thistestisintendedtobeusedforquantitativedescriptionsofporosity(suchasnumberofporesperunitareaorpercontact)oncoatingsthathaveasufficientlylowporedensitysothatthecorrosionsitesarewellseparatedandcanbereadilyresolved.Asageneralguidelinethiscanbeachievedforporedensitiesuptoabout100/cm.Abovethisvaluethetestsareusefulforthequalitativedetectionandcomparisonsofporosity.Avarietyofotherporositytestingmethodsaredescribedintheliterature[5][6].OtherISOporositytestmethodsaredescribedISO10308,ISO12687,ISO14647andISO15720.
