【摘要】:Thespecificgravityordensityofasolidisapropertythatcanbemeasuredconvenientlytofollowphysicalchangesinasample,toindicatedegreeofuniformityamongdifferentsamplingunitsorspecimens,ortoindicatetheaveragedensityofalargeitem.Itispossiblethatvariationsindensityofaparticularplasticlumberorshapesspecimenwillbeduetochangesincrystallinity,lossofplasticizer/solventcontent,differencesindegreeoffoaming,ortoothercauses.Itispossiblethatportionsofasamplewilldifferindensitybecauseofdifferenceincrystallinity,thermalhistory,porosity,andcomposition(typesorproportionsofresin,plasticizer,pigment,orfiller).Note28212;ReferenceismadetoTestMethodD1622.Densityisusefulforcalculatingstrengthtoweightandcosttoweightratios.Ifthecross-sectionalareaofthespecimenisrequiredforfuturetestingonaparticularsample,itisacceptabletodetermineitfromaspecificgravitymeasurement,seeEq5.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthebulkdensityandspecificgravityofplasticlumberandshapesintheirx201C;asmanufacturedx201D;form.Assuch,thisisatestmethodforevaluatingthepropertiesofplasticlumberorshapesasaproductandnotamaterialpropertytestmethod.1.2Thistestmethodissuitablefordeterminingthebulkspecificgravityorbulkdensitybyimmersionoftheentireitemorarepresentativecrosssectioninwater.Thistestmethodinvolvestheweighingofaonepiecespecimeninwater,usingasinkerwithplasticsthatarelighterthanwater.Thistestmethodissuitableforproductsthatarewetby,butotherwisenotaffectedbywaterforthedurationofthetest.1.3Plasticlumberandplasticshapesarecurrentlymadepredominatelyfromrecycledplastics.However,thistestmethodwouldalsobeapplicabletosimilarmanufacturedplasticproductsmadefromvirginresinswheretheproductisnon-homogeneousinthecross-section.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothistestmethod.
