【摘要】:1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheuseofX-rayfluorescence(XRF)fordeterminingthecoatingweight(mass)ofmetalliccoatingsonsteelsheet.Thetestmethodisintendedtobeusedforx201C;on-linex201D;measurementsofcoatingoncontinuousproductionlines.1.2ThistestmethodisapplicabletothecoatingscoveredbythefollowingASTMspecifications:A599/A599M,A623,A623M,A653/A653M,A792/A792M,A875/A875M,A879/A879M,A918,andA924/A924M.Itmaybeapplicabletoothercoatings,providingthattheelementalnatureofthecoatingandsubstratearecompatiblewiththetechnicalaspectsofXRFsuchastheabsorptioncoefficientofthesystem,primaryradiation,fluorescentradiation,typeofdetection.1.3Thistestmethodincludestheprocedurefordevelopingasinglestandarddeterminationofcoatingweight(mass).1.4ThistestmethodincludesproceduresforbothX-raytubeandisotopecoatingweight(mass)measuringinstruments.1.5Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
